Announcing community moderators

Metaculus Meta

We're really excited to announce the appointment of three community moderators to Metaculus! Please welcome @DanielFilan, @Sylvain (formerly known as @tenthkrige) and @PabloStafforini as they step up to become emissaries of Metaculus! These members have generously volunteered their time to help us cultivate this community and help ensure that issues are properly addressed.

We want to make Metaculus a tremendous success, and we think that empowering excellent community members to help out with moderating can improve your experiences on the site.

For the moment, moderators will have limited powers compared to admins, to allow them to still participate in the prediction side of Metaculus. These include: reviewing and editing pending questions, and editing upcoming questions. Which means they will not, for example, be able to resolve questions.

As these are early stages of a plan to develop a community moderation system, we welcome thoughts on all aspects of such a system (such as what issues is important for moderators to address, or longer-term, what a full-fledged collaborative moderation system would look like).

If you're interested in being considered to join the club of community moderators, please let us know at support@metaculus.com.
