He is the founder, CEO, and Chief Engineer at SpaceX; early-stage investor, CEO, and Product Architect of Tesla, founder of The Boring Company, and co-founder of Neuralink and OpenAI. With an estimated net worth of around US$270 billion as of April 2022, Musk is the wealthiest person in the world according to both the Bloomberg Billionaires Index and the Forbes real-time billionaires list.
In April 2022, it was revealed that Musk had built a substantial equity stake in Twitter, becoming the social media site's largest shareholder. He was subsequently expected to be appointed to the company's board of directors, and indicated a desire "to make significant improvements to Twitter in coming months!"
However, on April 10 2022, current Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal announced that Musk had decided not to join the company's board. No explanation was given as to why.
