Follow, Predict, Withdraw, Find, Predict again

I’m very happy to announce two much requested features: finding questions you follow, and withdrawing from questions. # The new “Following” feed Now you can easily find all questions you’re following! Select the “Following” feed in the feed sidebar: It has, as the name suggests, all the questions you’re following. To follow a question, go to the question page and click the Follow button. “Followed” is also now an option in the advanced filter menu, under the “My participation” section: This lets you combine it with other filters to find the exact questions you want. # Withdrawing from a question At long last, it is now possible to withdraw from a question! Once you’ve withdrawn, you no longer have a prediction standing for that question. Of course, after withdrawing, you can make a new prediction any time and start accruing scores again. Concretely, this means that, starting from the moment you withdrew and until you make a new prediction: * You stop accruing scores, including Peer scores, Baseline scores, etc. * You stop accruing Coverage for the Peer leaderboards. * You aren’t part of the Community Prediction or other aggregates. To be extra clear, none of those behaviours are retroactive: you still get scores and coverage for times up until you withdrew, and your past predictions are not removed from the Community Prediction. To see a worked example, head to the [FAQ](/faq/#howwithdraw). To quickly see which questions you’ve ever predicted, withdrawn from, or still have a standing prediction on, there are new filters in the filter menu: And withdrawals show up as crosses in the timeline graphs: Note: the ability to withdraw is a big change to how predictions happen on Metaculus. We are currently enabling it on all questions that are not linked to a prize pool. We expect to learn a lot about how you all use this new capability, and the effects it has on Metaculus in the next few weeks and months. *** We hope you find both of those features useful. If you have thoughts, feedback, or ideas, please share them below!
