One result worth noting: the highest-ranked bot, [🤖 Preseen-Chestnut](https://www.metaculus.com/accounts/profile/279617/), would have finished 3rd overall, were bots eligible for prizes or medals in this tournament.

In addition to a forecasting prize category, we also hosted a commenting prize, distributed to the top 8 contributors based on the quality and quantity of their comments. This prize rewards both consistent useful commenting and a smaller number of standout contributions.

This season introduced a new format: the Community Prediction went head-to-head against [<u>Nathan Young</u>](https://www.metaculus.com/tournament/metaculus-cup-spring-2026/), one of forecasting's most vocal advocates. Nathan turned in an impressive performance and beat the community - and by his own time tracking software, he [put in about 80 hours of forecasting](https://www.metaculus.com/questions/41508/cp-beats-nathan-young-in-the-spring-2026-cup/#comment-842622) over the course of the tournament.
