Announcing the Labor Automation Tournament Commenting Prize Winners!
3
The commenting window for the [**Labor Automation Tournament**](https://www.metaculus.com/tournament/labor-hub/) closed on Sep. 1, and we've picked our winners. The community discussed where US employment is headed, whether Fortune 500 companies will shrink their headcounts, how many workers will use AI every day, and much more. A lot of that reasoning moved the forecasts. ## Commenting Prize Winners The \$5,000 commenting prize goes to these 8 forecasters: 1. [**Zaldath**](https://www.metaculus.com/accounts/profile/139161/): \$1,200 2. [**DaiLothbrook**](https://www.metaculus.com/accounts/profile/284188/): \$1,000 3. [**Hippopotamus\_bartholomeus**](https://www.metaculus.com/accounts/profile/247921/): \$200 We judged comments on the strength of their reasoning, not on whether they turn out to be right. The best ones brought in new information and pushed back on other forecasters' assumptions. Upvotes, "Changed My Mind" votes, and key factor ratings counted too. Thanks to everyone who left comments! The tournament is still running. The \$10,000 Near-Term Forecasting Prize covers questions that close by the end of 2030, and the \$20,000 Long-Term Forecasting Prize covers questions that resolve after 2031. Scores are time-averaged, so forecasting early helps. Thanks to Renaissance Philanthropy and Schultz Family Foundation for supporting the tournament.
