As of 2019, only 12 people have ever landed on the Moon. All of these people did so between July 1969 and December 1972.
The United States is currently pursuing a new crewed moon landing by year end 2024. Multiple private initiatives that may enable crewed landings on the Moon in the coming decade are also underway, including development of the Blue Moon and Starship vehicles.
By 2030, how many people will have ever landed on the Moon?
This question will resolve as the number of individual humans who have ever landed, and survived the landing, on the Moon before January 1 2030. Multiple visits made by the same human will not count more than once towards this question.
